Botanical Illustration Workshop: Summer at Leonardslee (Sold Out)

6 July| 10:00 – 16:00

We’re delighted to be hosting more Botanical Illustration workshops after sell-out sessions.

Our botanical illustration workshop will teach you how to draw and illustrate a unique piece of art from start to finish. Professional botanical artist Leigh Ann, who is part of our Leonardslee Florilegium will guide you step-by-step, to produce accurate initial drawings, that will then be transferred to specialist watercolour paper before using watercolours and/or pencils to bring your illustration to life.

You will be working from a variety of summer flowering species, early berries and fruits, and interesting foliage which has been collected from Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens.

This workshop is suitable for all abilities and allows participants to work at their own pace. With plenty of help and guidance, including demonstrations during the workshop highlighting specific drawing and painting techniques suitable for the art of botanical illustrations.

A break for lunch will be taken with afternoon tea which includes scones with cream and jam, a sandwich, a slice of cake and a tea or coffee per person. Please email info@leonardsleegardens.co.uk if you have any allergies or dietary requirements.
