If July is anything to go by, August promises to be hot and sunny here at Leonardslee. I just hope I haven’t jinxed it by saying that! All being well, there cannot be a better time to sit in or wander around the garden here and enjoy everything it has to offer. From the sights and smells of the floral displays around the Mansion and Rock garden areas, to the stunning views across and out of the estate that we continue to re-open, to the sounds of the bees, busy pollinating, August is a fantastic time to take it all in.

New Head Gardener Jamie Harris Joins Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens
Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens at Horsham, West Sussex. has appointed Jamie Harris as head gardener. For six years before this, he was head gardener at Polesden Lacey, the National Trust property in Surrey, managing a mix of formal gardens, pleasure grounds and woodland.

Save Our Woodlands!
With just 7% of our original native woodlands left, the state of the UK's woodlands has reached a critical stage, according to a Woodland Trust 2021 report, the country's first comprehensive assessment of their condition.

During June we can still expect to see the likes of the Rock Garden still full of Azalea colour and alpine interest and the Rhododendrons still doing their thing for a little longer in the Loderi Garden, Coronation Garden and all point in between.

Turning water into wine at Leonardslee
Leonardslee Lakes and Gardens in West Sussex is busy creating wine fountains throughout the Grade I Listed gardens. Visitors may notice the concrete foundations throughout the 240-acre estate as the fountains are installed for their planned operation from June 2021.
