Nightlight Lullabies at Leonardslee Illuminated
Following the success of Nightlight Lullabies at Leonardslee Illuminated, Murmuration Arts have been awarded Heritage Lottery Funding to continue working with parents in Crawley. The piece created will be exhibited at the Rights of Passage exhibition at Crawley Museum in the spring. The company are currently looking to meet new parents to collaborate within the area.
All participants will receive a free family ticket to Enchanted Leonardslee to thank them for their time and contribution to the project.

Nightlight Lullabies is an important commentary on how singing can improve parents’ mental health, as well as soothe newborn babies and ultimately strengthen bonds between parent and child, "Duggan continues.
“We have taken real-life accounts of early parenthood through creative writing workshops with local parents and turned them into an informative, immersive and authentic installation for families to enjoy.”

Murmuration Arts are sector-leaders in outdoor arts, street theatre and community collaboration. Murmuration Arts were established in 2019, having made fantastic outdoor theatre together for over 14 years. Previous shows include: The Owl & The Pussycat (2021), Bridges y Puentes (2017), Gloves On (2012) and the exceptionally popular Ragroof Tea Dances which toured internationally from 2006 to 2018. Happy Feet (2016), won the £50k People’s Choice Award in 2016, the same year the team behind Murmuration Arts were held as an example of Best Practice by Big Lottery in their 2016 end-of-year report, for participatory work with communities. Murmuration Arts’ artistic practice is participant-centred, focused on platforming the unheard voices of local people from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds, providing opportunities to co-create art together.
Current touring shows include Nightlight Lullabies, The Owl & The Pussycat and Murmuration Social Distancing Club - delivered either outdoors or online over Zoom.
