All you need to know
We welcome you to cheer the riders in as they arrive at our South Car Park and stop for a short break on their London to Brighton Run.
2024 marks The Sunbeam Motorcycle Club’s Pioneer Run®’ 84thevent. Having been run almost continuously since 1930, the Pioneer is similar to the Veteran Car Club's 'London to Brighton Run' for old cars.
’The Pioneer ‘ route starts at Epsom's Tattenham Corner and runs down through Reigate, skirting Gatwick Airport and continuing via Handcross, Plummers Plain and Lower Beeding where these beautiful machines stop at Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens for a welcome cup of tea or coffee.
It is an ideal opportunity to view these veteran motorcycles and three-wheelers, none of which are less than 105 years old! It is the largest gathering of over 300 pre 1915 solos, sidecars, tricycles and quadricycles in the world.
We know that the Sunbeam Motor Cycle Club is delighted to be using the beautiful setting of Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens as a checkpoint - we, for our part, look forward to welcoming them.
