Rhododendron Walks

16 May | 11:00 – 12:30

Be introduced to the Rhododendron collection at Leonardslee and take a closer look at the many varied and unusual species of Rhododendron that have been planted in the gardens over the last two centuries. Many of these were collected by plant hunters from around the world; including China, Japan, India and North America.

A mostly flat walk along the top of the valley, taking in the Loderi garden, Lower, Middle and Top Walk, down to the Dell.

As our gardening team takes a detailed look at some of the best hybrid Rhododendrons, including rare cultivars raised by the Loders at Leonardslee and now part of a National Collection, as well as huge champion specimens that are among the oldest and largest in the country. Enjoy the beautiful spring garden after your tour as garden entry is included.

Advice on growing and managing Rhododendrons may also be included.

See below the selection of guided walks we offer here at Leonardslee.
